Akron, OH – item North America, a provider of structural aluminum and modular components for the automation, manufacturing and material handling industries, recently broke ground (photo attached) on a 20,000 square foot addition to their facility located on Glaser Parkway near the Akron Municipal Airport.
item North America, a family owned business has been in North American operation since 1996. Eveline Nordhauss, the company Owner and President, said the addition will allow item to expand production, warehouse, and office space to meet increasing demand for their product. item plans to increase employment with the addition of five to ten new employees when construction is complete.
The item machine building system is used in many applications including medical, pharmaceutical, aviation, automotive, computers, and electronics and more. A broad spectrum of installations – from equipment for individual work stations to automated handling systems – can be built economically utilizing item’s extruded aluminum kit systems. Pound-for-pound, it is far stronger and more economical than welded steel. It requires a fraction of the engineering time substantially less assemble time and minimal machining, if any.
The project is being designed and constructed by Campbell Construction Inc., (Wooster & Wadsworth, OH).
