Case Study: Akron University Police Robot

“Bad Guys Beware” – The University of Akron Honors College, The Akron Ohio Police Department and item North America teamed up to design and build the Automated Reconnaissance for Emergency Services (A.R.E.S).
The original purpose of ARES was to investigate potential threats while eliminating the time, expense and manpower of assembling the local SWAT Team in problem situations.

ARES is equipped with surveillance technology to provide live visual and acoustic feedback for officers at a remote location.
