Tallmadge, OH – WARDJet, Inc., a manufacturer of waterjet cutting machines, provides customers with leading edge equipment and support in multiple products related to waterjet cutting.
WARDJet’s goal is to design and build CNC gantry systems that are recognized as the leading waterjet cutting platform in the industry. In early 2005, WARDJet contacted item North America’s engineering department for assistance in developing a system that would travel at fast speeds and remain light weight with high acceleration/deceleration capabilities, while sustaining the ability to withstand the aggressive environment of abrasive waterjet cutting.
item’s 8 Series D14 Stainless belt driven linear system was incorporated into WARDJet’s design, and mounted to an existing frame. This allowed them to use their mapping and calibration tools and software to achieve high repeatability and positional tolerances.

In an effort to meet the expanding needs of the waterjet cutting industry, WARDJet contacted item again with the idea to design and market a gantry system specifically for water-only cutting.Recent demands for cutting foam, linoleum, and other soft materials does not require such high precision cutting, but still calls for the quality of a waterjet cut.
The versatility of item’s belt-driven linear systems offered a perfect fit to WARDJet’s needs. The use of structural aluminum and modular components allowed WARDJet to utilize the item technology in both light and heavy duty applications.
