A need for a machine that increases efficiency in a production setting...
The machine integrator and item began working together in early in 2005 to begin
the design of the mentioned machine. Vast linear motion capabilities, load-bearing
capabilities, speeds, repeatability and precision made item and this particular
builder an ideal fit.
How item helped...
Staff engineers from both organizations collaborated on the project. They worked on
the design for months; finally, a machine that met all customer needs was delivered
and implemented into the production process.
There were two particular applications which involved precise linear motion; more over,
variations of an X, Y, Z or 3-axis systems were constructed. One composed of entirely
ball screws, the other, ball screws and belt driven slide. In both applications, the
combinations of linear precision and electrical control were critical for success.
Again, item partnered with an electrical expert to take part in the production of a
working machine.
Because of the load, speed, and repeatability required; item and our partner designed
new and improved configurations of ball screws, slides, and mechanical drives. These
new configurations were made to reinforce the integrity, rigidity and overall performance
of the unit. This is possible through the diverse product offering of item and engineering
expertise of item and its integration partners. The collaboration resulted in a unit which
will be able to perform at maximum operating efficiency; an absolute must for our partner.
